We're proud to launch Slashoid, a community-driven website that covers Android, google's mobile platform.
Goals
- cover stuff that matters. The community votes for what matters, à la Digg or Slashdot
- Reinforce Android community. If you have additional ideas on how to help the Android ecosystem, please join our google groups.
Why ?
- Because most Android news sources are read-only websites (at least, that's our feeling)
- Because we are doing Mobile development with a few people working for Pyxis Technologies, and the better the Android ecosystem is, the more interesting our projects will be ;-) We think Android development is more fun than iPhone development, so we used our 20% side-projects time at Pyxis to setup slashoid :)
- We want to collaborate/talk/etc with fun people who share our interest for the Android platform. Shameless plug: if you are looking for partners in mobile development, do not hesitate to contact us to android@pyxis-tech.com. (You can also contact us if you just want to say Hello ;-)
Non-Objectives
- We do not want to reinvent the wheel or compete against other websites who pursue the same goals. If you have the same objectives and you fell under our radar, then please contact us and we'll figure out the best solution to better help the Android community as a whole.
